円柱のピローが両サイドに添えられただけのシンプルなベッドが印象的ですが、
ベッド全体を彩る高級な織物と同じ素材であるこのピローは、恐らく普段使いの就寝用枕ではなく、装飾用のピロークッションであることが伺えます。

When you take a good look at it, you will see the bolster pillows placed on the both edges of the bed. Presumably, these pillows were not used for sleeping pillows but were used as decorative pillows. But, what are decorative pillows in the first place?

ホテルに宿泊したときなど、皆様もきっと一度は目にされたことがあるでしょう。
清潔感のあるシーツやコンフォーターで美しく整えられたベッドとともに、
調度品に合うおしゃれなピロークッションが並べられたお部屋。何とも贅沢な気分にさせてくれます。
You all might not be familiar with decorative pillows in your own bedroom, but you might have seen a clean bed with many pillows vertically stacked when you stayed at a hotel. Entering a room and seeing a beautiful bedding certainly makes us feel comfortable and delirious.
ホテルのようなスタイリッシュに施されたベッドメイキングを作るには、
たくさんのピローを適当に置けばいいというわけではもちろんありませんが、
かといって、とても厳密なルールが存在するというわけでもありません。
サイズや使用目的をいくつか覚えれば、ピローを活用した自由で幅広いベッドコーディネートを楽しむことができます。
本日は、弊社が手がけたプロジェクトのべディングを参考に、実例をいくつかご紹介しましょう。
デパートや専門店などの寝具売り場には、サイズや形の異なる多種多様なピローが溢れていますが、最もポピュラーなものは下の3種類。
＜ユーロシャム＞、＜就寝用ピロー＞、＜装飾用ピロー＞です。
In order to DIY your own bed making like a hotel room, you have to learn about some basic stuffs about pillows.
But, here is a good news! There aren't too strict rules or instructions either on this subject.
In other words, you can enjoy various pillow coordination almost whatever way you like!
I am introducing you some beautiful bedding ideas that are installed in our projects.
First off, here are three pillow types that are the most common for bedding your bed.
＜ユーロ シャム＞
サイズ: 約66x66cm
特徴: 最も大きいピロー。ベッドのヘッドボードに立てかけるように置く飾り枕。
<Euro Sham>
Size: 26 x 26 inch
Big square pillows vertically placed against the headboard for a decorative purpose.
＜就寝用ピロー＞
サイズ: 約51x91cm（キング）
約51x66cm（クィーン／フル／ツイン）
快適な眠りのため、インサート（中身）にはダウンなど柔らかい素材が用いられる。しわなどが付きやすいため、ベッドメイキングの際はユーロシャムや他の飾り枕の間に隠すように置かれることが多い。
<Sleeping Pillow>
Size: 20 x 36 inch for King bed
20 x 26 inch for Queen/Full/Twin
Pillows for sleeping. Soft and comfortable material like feather down is preferred as insert cushion.
＜装飾用ピロー＞
サイズ: 様々
特徴: 正方形、長方形、円柱などがある。部屋のアクセントになる色やデザイン性のあるピローが多い。べディングの前面に置く比較的小さめなものが主流。
<Decorative Pillow>
Vary in size and shape.
Smaller than euro sham and sleeping pillows. Square, rectangular, bolster etc are the most common shape. Gives your bed decorative accents.

Examples from our projects
①まずはMonte Carloのご邸宅をご紹介。
ゆったりとしたキングベッドには、一番奥から飾り用の2種類のユーロシャム。その前面に就寝用枕を隠すように置き、長方形の装飾ピローを3点配置。多くのピローでベッドに奥行きと立体感が生まれ、またゴージャスな仕上がりになっています。
1. This gorgeous bedroom in the residence in Monte Carlo creates a rich ambience with layered pillows. You see two different kinds of large euro shams in the back, two sleeping pillows placed between euro shams and rectangular decorative pillows. A small decorative pillow in the middle of the bed.
②対照的に、こちらは就寝用枕と飾り用枕を中央全面に置いただけの大変シンプルなベッド。びしっとした太いストライプ柄のピローが効いています。
2. In contrast, this simple bedding with just two sleeping pillows and one decorative pillow takes you to the ultimate minimalism. Simple yet, stylish with bold striped design pillow!
③同系色のピローでまとめたベッドも素敵です。
一番手前に置かれた丸みのある円柱ピローが、四角いピローや角張ったヘッドボード、家具でまとめられたお部屋に柔らかさを与えてくれているようです。
3. It is not always necessary to add colorful accents into your room. Placing pillows with similar hues is nice as well and gives natural and relaxing atmosphere throughout your bedroom.
④ツインやフルサイズの小さめベッドでも大丈夫。就寝用枕の他に1,2種類のピローを置くだけで、スタイリッシュなべディング空間が演出できます。
4. How about pillow coordination for small full or twin size beds? Of course, you can do it! Only you need is one or two extra pillow shams to make your bed chic and stylish!
